Crazy busy weekend, such beautiful and unforgettable moments with the people I love, and a splash of shopping !
That pretty much sums up my weekend…
Saturday morning began with a mad rush to our local “mall” as mum and I quickly tried to get some super important pre-christening errands done.
I was feeling very drained from the work week, struggling to get out of bed and get to it, so I thought I’d try and refresh myself for a big day ahead by adding a fresh pop to my outfit.
Nothing screams BRIGHT louder than a neon multi-coloured cross appliqued across your chest on a sheer pastel.
Add a neon textured scarf to it and VOILA you’re shining “bright like a diamond”.
Do we love it ?!
Limping around with my knee I just couldn’t resist ! I had to stop by at Betts,and well… we all know what happens when I stop by at Betts 
YAY – Brought new shoes ! *smiles like a loser*
With my knee, back problems and all, These shoes don’t actually have much of a high heel AND are a great spring/summer style that go with pretty much anything in the wardrobe.
Love the wood and thick black strap design – Cannot wait to take these babies on a Test run.

Shopping was over – we quickly headed home so that I could get my face and hair “did” for our beautiful baby Alex’s christening and First birthday !
Half a can of hairspray and 40 minutes of makeup later, it was dress time !
It seems that when I have important functions there is always something wrong with at least one part of my body, but it’s okay no panic here, we just keep our fashion face on !
For this look I meshed formal with confidence and comfort and with that I present to you the beautiful Saskia Maxi from Zen clothing !
A gorgeous blue and yellow print, elasticated waist, gold embellished high scoop neck and halter cut.
It was just perfect for all my “body” problems.
I wanted to hide my legs,thanks to knee surgery they were uneven and slightly muscle-less, so the smartest way to do it was with a maxi !
As the dress already had a gold embellishment on the neck, Accessorising it was easier than ever.
we added one of these babies.
Gold plated waist belt.
Completely on-trend and very easy to find.
After the gold comes the nude !
Nude beginnings ?!
Add a big envelope bag made from textured material to dress it up.
and instead of cluttering the look with bangles and bracelets, I just did it simple with a tortoise-shell like Fossil watch.
and finally the shoes.
Usually I would dazzle it up with a pair of platforms but due to my knee I found the perfect pair of not-so-casual flats.
Thankyou Therapy and my Boss for helping me hunt these down !
Snakeskin detailed straps.
and a little heel so the back and knees don’t cry.
Now we were ready to go to the church for the christening.
Congratulations Little one on this very special day, you have a whole life ahead of you an we are so happy to be apart of your life – Sharing every little step you take.

After the Church comes the reception of course !
The wonderful parents and Godparents or Alex did a tremendous job at decorating.
Every Child’s heaven.

In fact, I envy all of you who are out and about as we speak ! I recently injured my self quite badly… Been a little MIA but it’s okay as I have been operated on and am on my way to recovery.
I actually return back to work tomorrow, which is quite exciting ! – I cannot wait – I was going a little stir crazy !!!!

A few months back I was absolutely itching to get away from anything urban !
I wanted to draw myself away from the City life and be completely isolated in a very rural, very quiet place.
So where did we decide to go This time ?
My boyfriend and I decided to head out to Wisemans !
A wrong turn here and there, loss of navigation and reception, the “SOS only” sign popping on your screen Could only mean one thing right ? FREAK-THE-HELLL-OUT-YOU-ARE-LOST in somewhere that APPLE-CAN’T-EVEN-FIND-YOU !!! hahaha… !!!!
Ten minutes of driving.. only GREEN, GREEN, FENCE, GREEN, OLD CEMETERY, MORE GREEN ! We finally get to a park/grounds entrance where dozens of tents and caravans were set-up !
Where the hell were we !? We were right in the middle of none other than the St.Albans Folk Festival !
We didn’t really get much involved with the festival, we were too determined to get away from crowds and loud noises.
So we walked through the old park and found a path leading to a very secret, very isolated location.
Completely at peace.
Such a beautiful place to be.
Fresh air, hardly any noise and a brilliant view.
NOW I could finally photograph my boho ensemble !
The funny thing was I blended in perfectly with the folk Festival.
Completely coincidental !
Brand of the day – SoulCal&Co !
If you haven’t heard of Soul Cal they are a UK lifestyle fashion brand designed for the very laid back male and female with California in their Soul.
It’s inspired by the carefree California way of life as well as keeping the sun,sea and surf at mind.
Their pieces reflect Californian culture through the use of their retro prints, and washed out colours, reminiscent of 70’s album covers and posters.
The piece I got my hands on has a very beautiful paisley print on it with colours of red, navy and deep turquoise blue.
As you can see in the image I’ve style it with the basic black and brown palette choice that works quite well with the boho-style vibe.
I picked a braided “vintage look” belt to tie at the waist. Something to style it up with I guess.
That particular belt came with one of my other dresses but in general, thin braided belts are quite easy to come across and are also quite cheap.
You can get a cheap one like the one below for $15 from Target if you get super desperate and don’t find anything.
The boots I’ve chosen have a very western, boho vibe.
They have tassels on them and look something like this.
However, Any scrunched ankle high/mid high boot with the western stitch detail and cut would be suitable.
It was quite a cold day so I was wearing leggings with this dress and also a Cardi.
I chose this cardigan in particular because it was very beachy with it’s loose knit open weave design.
They are the kinds of things I look at for detail when styling up garments for a particular subculture/trend.

Get on-trend for 2013 !
While high fashion may do well on the start of year catwalks, predicting which will be the key looks to filter down to the high street can be difficult. Surprisingly, popular looks from recent seasons include the Peplum, which exploded onto the high street in 2011 and has not lost any momentum as we passed through 2012. In terms of shoes, creepers and the more elegant creeper style platforms have been massive on the streets as fashion continues to reclaim the sixties via the nineties.

So what’s going to be big this year?
Let’s find out what the key predictions are for 2013:
Paisley might be the only print to be seen in for 2013. Try a paisley-print cotton sundress for when the weather warms up, or a slick shirt teamed with mannish trousers to work two trends at once.
Don’t panic: if paisley isn’t your thing, you can choose between geometric or floral prints to stay on trend. Fashion icons should be Twiggy and Jean Shrimpton (as well as the women of Mad Men) and look out for citrus colour prints for the ultimate homage to sixties fashion.
Floor-length gowns are going to be big this year and creating an elegant silhouette is going to be key. This season’s dresses have to go all the way down to the ground. Look out for kimono-style gowns for the ultimate in opulence.
Oh my Goth! Goth continues to be influential this year but don’t let it get you down. Colours are black and white, obviously, and choose leather to maximise the 50 Shades of Grey influence.
Let’s go on a space odyssey as all things futuristic and sci-fi enter our collective fashion consciousness. Think metallic, still trending from 2012,Ziggy Stardust, glitter, and try some silver shades for you footwear.

Personally, I LOVE Popping bright colours Especially all the neon palettes in Sydney’s stores !
BUT there are some people who AREN’T as experimental with the crazy range of colours in season.
Don’t Fret -There is a solution to follow the trend and not be so OUT THERE !
There’s a lot of things I pick up on when styling at Target. It’s amazing how much I learn about clients habits, insecurities, and personalities just from what they choose off the stylist’s Rack.
One of the bigger issues is this idea that “oh it probably looks better on the hanger so I don’t think I’m willing to take off all the layers and try it on”. Perfect example : Majority would never wear my red snake skin denim right ? or a short fluoro belted peplum skirt for a corporate look? They are much more reserved and tamed BUT when they take a good look at what I’m wearing (yes it’s that outfit they doubted as they walked passed it ) it gives them this massive confidence boost to get on the sales floor and pick up all the styles they’ve wanted to wear but haven’t ! I’m curvy and absolutely un proportioned so none of them have the excuse “oh but you’re a model – it will always look better on you” Yes Ladies I have plenty of Junk in ma Trunk ! ha-ha
Having said that, If you are a more tamed individual who wants to follow the “ fluoro/neon” trend that’s hitting the stores do it subtly with a neon coloured belt instead.
It can add pop to any plain outfit without making you feel insecure or too BOLD – after all, it’s just a belt, don’t like it then just take it off or switch it… !

Mix and Match different coloured belts according to the palette’s of your outfits.

I’ve Always Loved Leopard print and it’s something that has always been in my wardrobe. Whether it be a scarf, a handbag, a random strip of fabric collected for a sample, shoes, a dress – It’s in there.
I encourage everyone to Try out the Animal Print trend ! Add some fun to the wardrobe – You should have already added some colour with the T for Teal and Target too post and now its time for some leopard and Snakeskin.
On Saturday, I FINALLY went Shopping with my brothers fiancée for their wedding in three weeks – as I am a bridesmaid new shoes are a MUST-HAVE !
During our little Shopping Date I noticed so many things I loved. Yes I felt a little strange “having fun” because I hadn’t been out in ages – believe me people I have been so wrapped up in Major work The only places I’ve been going are college, work, internship, home – yeah the usual.
So to liven the change room experience I took a shot of the dress I loved the most from the day ! So cute ! A Nice on-trend mustard yellow and a cute leopard peter pan collar ! LOVE IT
There were so many cute dresses and gorgeous tops ! I fell in love with so much ! To view their website click here – however, its better to go in store as I noticed none of their stuff from Saturdays pop in was online !
