Sometimes when the weather is absolutely horrible and depressing I open up my closet, sit in it for awhile and then pick out the most brightest or boldest item I have.
Something so different to the weather outside just to lift up the mood a little.
The Star of today’s post is a very summery, very fresh, batwing/kimono-sleeve Shirt.
I Picked up this beauty when my friend from Melbourne was down to visit.
We were casually having dinner at Darling Harbour when the sight of these beautiful Hibiscus printed tops and skirts captured our attention (and of course it was an impulse buy).
Now Every time I look at it I think of her and how we had such a great catch up in such a short amount of time ! ❤ you Bianca
Orange and white hibiscus flowers printed on a peach base. Perfect for Spring/Summer
For those of you who are enjoying Spring/Summer now (unlike us) a floral printed shirt like this is definitely a must-have !
Two reasons – 1 is that you can dress it up and make it very day to night as you can wear it buttoned up with a statement necklace – something gold and chunky.
2 is that you can unbutton it like in the picture, for an everyday casual look.
Just add a plain camisole underneath and a loose single pendant necklace.
If it gets a little chilli you can even add a brown scarf.
or even a lightweight metallic thread one.
click on the link to purchase.
Voila ! All set for the day ahead !
For accessories, as mentioned you can play with the orange, pinks, ivory browns and white palette’s – always fun to play with pastels. As well as mixing it up with little splashes of gold or antique gold.
Something new-vintage would look great with this like a small boxy bag, any shade of brown leather or like I have added a nice orange off-the-shoulder bag.

Get on-trend for 2013 !
While high fashion may do well on the start of year catwalks, predicting which will be the key looks to filter down to the high street can be difficult. Surprisingly, popular looks from recent seasons include the Peplum, which exploded onto the high street in 2011 and has not lost any momentum as we passed through 2012. In terms of shoes, creepers and the more elegant creeper style platforms have been massive on the streets as fashion continues to reclaim the sixties via the nineties.
oo la la ! We LOVE peplum !
So what’s going to be big this year?
Let’s find out what the key predictions are for 2013:
Paisley might be the only print to be seen in for 2013. Try a paisley-print cotton sundress for when the weather warms up, or a slick shirt teamed with mannish trousers to work two trends at once.
Don’t panic: if paisley isn’t your thing, you can choose between geometric or floral prints to stay on trend. Fashion icons should be Twiggy and Jean Shrimpton (as well as the women of Mad Men) and look out for citrus colour prints for the ultimate homage to sixties fashion.
Floor-length gowns are going to be big this year and creating an elegant silhouette is going to be key. This season’s dresses have to go all the way down to the ground. Look out for kimono-style gowns for the ultimate in opulence.
Oh my Goth! Goth continues to be influential this year but don’t let it get you down. Colours are black and white, obviously, and choose leather to maximise the 50 Shades of Grey influence.
Let’s go on a space odyssey as all things futuristic and sci-fi enter our collective fashion consciousness. Think metallic, still trending from 2012,Ziggy Stardust, glitter, and try some silver shades for you footwear.
Well I hope that covered it for you all and has inspired more wardrobe fun and style for ‘13
So i got a little sidetracked this morning but it’s okay – all for good reasons…
Here’s something from Chanel I absolutely loved !
Chanel’s Spring-Summer 2013 Haute Couture Show videos ! Karl Lagerfeld CLEARLY has not lost his touch and I don’t think he ever will – Absolutely Loved the runway and the setting.

Now where did I leave you guys ? I think it was fathers day right ?
Well I hope everyone had a great Father’s day, because I know I sure did !
It was such a beautiful warm sunny day, so my father and I adventured out to the Windsor markets along with my brother and his wife.
Beautiful vintage clothing, quaint finds, farm fresh fruit and vegies, spices, wooden dollhouses, freshly baked breads and sweets – it was like a town of it’s own – very different to the Sydney City. We then set out for a lovely walk down by the Hawkesbury River.
I love going to markets, no mater what location they are in. It’s a good way to see unique things, young talents, or even a smaller dose of something regular !
My favourite boutique from the Windsor markets was this cute vintage-style clothing stall called Indi Rose.
Here’s a little snap
Not having quite a market fix yet – we head back to Rouse Hill Town Centre for their monthly Sydney Boutique Markets.
The cutest baby clothing stalls, inspirations hard goods, and plenty of fashion and accessories !
One of my favourites was this really cool accessories stall – Doury accessories !
Now when I first saw the pieces laid out on the stalls tables, besides thinking my goodness how elaborate and extravagant, I thought my goodness that would be so heavy !
As I reached down to pick it up, it was the complete opposite ! The pieces were in fact ,very lightweight, and very soft laser cut leather !!
So creative !
such pretty designs !
Ranging from $20 – $95 why not splurge on something innovative like this next time you need to purchase a new accessory !
So as you know, I recently went to Melbourne to sort out some business, visit some friends, retail therapy and of course SPRING FASHION WEEK.
The night before Melbourne was hectic, I had a lot of design work to do – Top secret project ❤
and I only really finished everything and cleaning up by about 11.
I guess packing wasn’t so hard when I had actually literally bought my outfit a MONTH AGO ! hahaha
I’m not even kidding, the jacket I wore, I saw it, picked it up and immediately thought, this is EXACTLY what I’ll wear to Fashion week … and about 5 minutes later, I swiped my card and the machine spat out my receipt – BRILLIANT !
Mum and I arrived Monday morning to the airport and just as checked in for our flight and went passed the security I finally saw where Victoria’s Secret in Australia had been set-up !
For those of you outside Australia, in the US, who have Victoria’s Secret in just about every mall… you are so damn lucky !!
I ran in expecting to go nuts at all the bra’s on my WANT list… and no bras …. everything but the bra’s.
Body mists and lotions, sure ! handbags, wallets and sunnies, yerp ! even underwear.. in fact everything but the bra’s…
Though I must say it is still pretty good for those ( like me ) who need a quick fix and replacement every now and then !
❤ ❤ ❤
Tuesday – Retail Therapy and Fashion show time !!
So I have been quite impatiently waiting for Topshop to open in Sydney, and well the most exciting part of the morning was heading down to Melbourne’s Chapel Street for some awesome Retail Therapy.
Top shop had a great range of studded/spiked bags, shoes, boots and just really damn good collections all over the store – I went crazy when i walked in actually, because I kept seeing things I liked and didn’t know whether to start from the left, the right or what.. blaaaaa !
I actually really liked the accessories range that top shop had and I bought myself a beautiful new cuff ❤
Surprisingly I didn’t buy much though, Oh I’m so proud of myself – I really am ! hahaha I usually come back with double luggage and plenty of carry on !
OH and there were so many trends I saw !
1 – the neon’s, were still in,
2 – the pastels not far behind them.
3 – Mullet- high/low tops and dresses,
4 – Floral printed Jackets, tops, dresses, and Denim and reflective graphic print tees in boldbright colours.
5 – *Embellished collars*,
6 – soft summer relaxed knits and
7 – STUDS, SPIKES AND MORE STUDS&SPIKES !…
[[and guess what my new pair of shoes have on them… SPIKES – ohh yeahhhh !!! ( Trend spikes posts coming soon )]]
Right opposite Topshop, was something a little more familiar.
URBAN by Target.
Urban by Target is Target’s new smaller store format, that gives city shoppers access to a specifically tailored selection of Target’s great style.
It’s located at 500 Chapel Street, Melbourne so why not head by for the best of Target’s fashionable ladies wear, footwear, accessories, intimate apparel, kids wear and babywear, as well as a small range of menswear.
…and I chose to play dress-ups ❤
#1
Grazia’s range for Hot options – A beautiful light turquoise sheer shirt with contrasting White collar, and tab. For more on-trend detail there was studs on the collar – I LOVED IT !
If you would like to purchase this top or would like to view it in colour simply click here
#2
There was also this super-cute Boucle turquoise and gold dress by Grazia !
I absolutely loved this one as you can easily dress it up !
It comes with a gold belt, so you can chuck on a pair of gold heels or pastel colour blocked wedges and a matching bag and off you go. or you can dress it down with some sandals and a loose knit cardigan. It’s perfect for summer !It kind of reminds me of a classy summer lunch dress ❤
Before I even tried this dress on, I was completely sold !
It’s the perfect lightweight summer dress !
You can dress it up with some black or coloured wedges. The trick with picking what colours to match it with lies solely in the colours of the dress. You can never go wrong with you stick with hues within the print. For example with this dress, A turquoise, or purple even a nice pink would have matched perfectly if you didn’t ant to stick to the black that was already a given by the included belt !
❤
After strolling and shopping down Chapel Street we then headed to a secret location – the MDP Jewels den to check out Matthew Pourhags new range of Fashion jewellery and accessories.
Rose gold finds ❤
lots of colourful necklaces and unique earrings and necklaces.
AND he recently launched his new add-on … *Clothing * hooraaa
and guess who was the first to try on and buy… oh yeah..
me = ]
I absolutely loved this top from the second I laid eyes on it !
It’s a chic, classic black and white top.
My favourite – with a collar, an embellished black collar with metal plates !
It also has shoulder pads for some extra Ooomph ladies AND The back is longer than the front.
I love this style of mullet top not only because it has my favourite – an embellished/collar but because the length of the shorter front isn’t a ridiculous midriff length.
It’s a nice balanced mullet ( so if you’re conscious of that ass ladies– this is the top to buy ! )
It’s selling for $79.95 with only a few sizes left guys, so if you like it – get in quick and BUY IT.
After all that shopping, we had to head home and it was time to put or fashion week outfits on and strut out !
Here’s our shots from fashion week !
The next nine shots are from couturing.com – thought I’d chase up some non-blurry frontal shots.

Our goodie Bags !
Mum and I ❤
In her beautiful vintage pink Suit set !
Casually “Streeting” it out !
FINALLY TIME FOR OUTFIT 13 !
FLORAL BLAZER | SO EXCITING !
Floral Print Blazers are SO HOT RIGHT NOW !!!!!
So lately I have been getting into buying blazers, no not just your plain ones but florals, neons and anything that stands out !
I mentioned earlier in the post that I had chosen my outfit – right well this is that beautiful blazer I was rambling on and on about !
It is coincidently from the Grazia range at Target. IT is a gorgeous tailored fit with a single breasted design and contrasting black collar and welt pockets.
This blazer is the highlight of the beginning of MY SPRING !
There are so many colours within the pattern that is is actually so easy to match things to it.
Turquoise, lime, fuchsia, purple, mint, yellow ! all of which are so easy to find and are available in pretty much any store !
With styling this outfit, I chose black bottoms because we all know how much I hate choosing/buying/trying on bottoms and comfortable black summer wedge heels.
I was originally going to wear a plain black top underneath but instead decided to go with my “out there” option i had brought along from sydney.
My plain lime green top.
I chose this top because it contrasted well with the black and crazy floral pattern and it was also easy to accessorise, as you can see I have put on my long orange beaded necklace.
The lime green top is actually quite easy to find – just have a look at any of the stores/boutiques in the shopping centre.
It’s quite on trend and in demand so someone has got to have one that tickles your fancy.
If you still can’t find one – head over to Supre’, Bardot, Sports girl or Target.
why ? | Because you never know which part of your shoe will annoy you AND the normal plastic Band-Aids don’t do anything for you, they easily come off making your sore worse !
I always apply mine the second I put my foot in my shoe – and wherever feels annoying I BANDAID IT – oh yeahh…
#2 – Mints – Because sometimes we don’t know what we’ll have to eat and who we’ll have to meet up with afterwards !
#3 Hand Sanitiser – Because you never know what you’re going to have to touch ! [yes I’m a massive germ-a-phobe]
#4 Body wipes – Because you may need to refresh after a long day
TRUST ME – I’m totally NOT crazy = ]
VFNO
So last night I went to Vogue’s Fashion night out !
It was a great night – plenty of music and Dj’s, food and drinks, Topless models, lots of fashion and great sales as well as some famous faces!!
Unfortunately my battery went flat so I don’t have any pictures at all besides this one from Sports girl !
I absolutely loved this when I saw it ! So cute and the perfect dog for the Pastel Trend ha ha !
The weather was beautiful, nice and warm and not too much wind either and that brings me to my outfit
A quick little Stylist’s outfit 12 – casual yet pretty !
I actually wore this dress to Vogue’s fashion night out last night with a black cardigan and sandals.
( Sorry – I don’t have full body shots because my battery ran out – boo hoo!)
As you can see, that’s my loose knit cardigan – perfect for summer. It’s very lightweight which means that if it gets even hotter you don’t have to take it off and carry it around. It actually kept me even cooler and it was quite hot in the city yesterday.
I’ve also worn my Fuchsia Bourgeois lipstick with this outfit.
for shoes, a comfortable pair of sandals or flats.
For a bag – I took my new black and white tote that I also bought from the Urban store.
It also comes in another colour way – beige, coral and white.
Boy Am i happy to say “IT’S THE FIRST DAY OF SPRINNGGGGG” !!!!!!!
I am sooo over the cold and I’m sure everyone is too – however it is still abit chilly…!
So what’s been happening this week in TLOR ?! Let’s rewind right back to the weekend !
DAY
Saturday morning Branka , Diana and I set out for an adventure at none other than Sydney’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival (21-25 Aug).
This year’s fashion festival was held in Sydney Town hall –MY GOODNESS ! it’s such a pretty venue !!
We watched the Trends show and it was just so amazing to be able to see different labels and new spring/summer trends.
Beautiful tribal, floral and random prints, colours of pastels, neon’s, bright and Bolds sorbet colours, laces, and chiffons. Lots of “mullet” high-low styled dresses and tops with trains, loose maxi’s… Everything from swimwear to casual, Summer dresses and Evening dressed.
Below are the labels that were in the show – Just click on their names to be directed to their website.
My favourite part was the Closing though. No it wasn’t because it was boring !! IT was ANYTHING BUT BORING TRUST ME.
Akira Isogawa’s collection and runway presentation absolutely captivated me ! It was the perfect collection perfect set up for a closing.
I felt like I was in another world ! The music, The designs and the prints, the stage props and umbrella’s even the way the girls were walking on the runway. It was something unbelievable I loved it so much ! I think I’ll leave it up to you guys to judge with the video’s!
VIDEO COMING REAL SOON
What I wore ?!
My Lime Laser Cut Back Top
Accessories, Nails and Lips ?!
I styled this look with Orange and a bit of pink on my nails to break it up. Very Spring/summer, Sorbet and Bright
I chose this beaded orange necklace and it fits nicely just around the neck, however you can go for something long and orange too.
I don’t know where the necklace is from = ] it’s a steal from my in-laws jewellery closet.
Nails, I’m wearing Ulta3 Nail polish – it’s fluoro pink AND they are only $2
Lipstick is Chi Chi’s “LAH DE DAH” orange lipstick ! It’s kind of wearing off in the picture but it is such a nice colour for spring/summer. It’s a matte lipstick.
I never change my earrings but you can go for matching orange pink or gold earrings – whatever tickles your fancy = ]
You can wearing matching orange shoes. I just put orange on for the photo –
however to actually fashion week I wore MY black wedge heels from Target which I’ve previously Posted about.
Wedge Heels are definitely more comfortable to be walking around in.
This is what the back of the top looks like. It’s got a laser cut out print. I just wore a black singlet underneath. You can go white or any other bright colour you like.
Also if it does get a bit chilly, just pop on your favourite black jacket and out you go.
I just wore my city dressing one which I have also previously blogged about. It’s got ruched sleeves and adds the final touch to the garment.
bag ?! For this outfit I’d recommend an orange bag, pink, or black bag.
Something like an oversized envelope statement clutch is very on trend.
The Night became a little more chilly and it was time to change outfits and head to another location. Ninny’s house : ) for her 22nd.
Again I felt like I was elsewhere, Beautiful Candle-lit surroundings, Garden Set-up, Rainbow cake and Strawberries, a bonfire and plenty of finger food !
Happy 22nd Yasmine Parker !
Candle Lit garden setting
Yellow balloons and pretty surroundings
The beautiful Yasmine n her polka dot dress – Lookout for this outfit of the day !
The Girls = ]
mmm bonfire time !!
followed by rainbow cake time !
Outfit from the night ?
Oh yess I did bring my nude and fur back on !
Fur vest by Ladakh.
Black Button up high low shirt with long sleeves from Hot options Range at Target.
Burgundy Ponte Leggings from the hot options range at Target
Accessories added –
my black and leopard bag from Target.
Black knee high boots by Lipstick
Burgundy knot necklace by Target.
If you do like the lipstick I have on it’s called Nude attitude by Revlon.
I also donated to her campaign because I thought that it would be nice to have the support of not only your fans but one designer to another it’s nice to have someone who APPRECIATES the process and the industry to support you.
So in return, Whitney Port has posted about me – HOORAAAAA
If you guys are thinking about donating I have all the details in my Road to runway post that I’ve linked !

MONDAY – LOOK 10
Going for an interview ?
Well this is what I wore to mine !
Whilst Styling Clients, I notice that every time the word Corporate is mentioned they panic a little and go and pick the plainest jacket and pant set they can find and pair of with another PLAIN top ?
Corporate doesn’t mean boring ?
It just means smart, clean… You’re allowed to have trend colours, stripes, dots, random prints, long sleeve, short sleeve… whatever you want really !
As long as it’s not provocative ofcourse
So as you all know when you start working for a company that insists you buy their clothes.
You will end up having seasons and seasons of clothes !
So my picks were my new Target Limited Editions Blazer. $89
and my favourite Ponte Leggings- Thick, Smart and comfortable.
To smarten up the look a little I added plain black heels and voila done !
I didn’t add a necklace. However, if you must, just a small pendant would do with this outfit as it already has stripes and that’s enough going on !
You can also chose to tuck in the shirt if you are going to wear it with pants or a skirt right at the waist and belt it with either a cream/ivory, or lime coloured belt to add a bit more flair to the outfit.
Wish me Luck Ladies and Gents !
_-_-_-_-_-_-_
So I’ve spent that last four weeks at Target Carlingford rather than Castle Towers where I usually am !
It has been a great four weeks working with the Carlingford team. They are just like a family and i fit right in !
Such lovely people that I had the pleasure of working with. I’ll never forget them…
I honestly HATE TRYING TO FIND the perfect MAXI SKIRT… I mean seriously… they drape, they are gathered, they are suppppperrr long, make short people look ridiculous and on a slightly UNproportioned tall body can come to look like a complete DISASTER !!!!
How many maxi skirts do people have in their wardrobes ? seriously… what – like one ?… none ?
My point exactly !
I have a curvy figure, a much fuller bottom half and a rather toned, washboard upper half, so just imagine how WRONG I look !
However, I always keep the thought of finding the perfect maxi skirt somewhere in the back of my mind !
2 weeks before I found my miracle maxi skirt. oh no it wasn’t one of those love at first sight moments… it was more like "a broken record” moment – different skirt, same feeling. I was trying on all these long, gathered chiffon skirts that just sat too heavily on my bottom half making my thighs and hips look even larger than they already were. Don’t even get me started on the clingy, jersey like ones either !
THESE were an ABSOLUTE NO NO!
Not too worry though – there is a happy ending to this story.
Short after, I came across a Tribal printed maxi and thought, GREAT it’s going to be another one of THOSE things.
Totally wasn’t ! Totally LOVED IT !
The fabric is a very light weight stretch mesh – it doesn’t cling to your body, it doesn’t make you look larger than you are, it fits perfectly around the waist, and even has a small skirt slip underneath it for you. It’s exposed waistband allows you to tuck tops in and out as well as creating belted looks.
Usually when I have printed pieces I like to tone them down with plain block colours.
As you can see I’m wearing my favourite plain black thermal shirt and just an antique gold aztec style necklace to compliment the look.
If you like the skirt simply click here to purchase online.
A few weeks back I bought myself a little present !
A Brilliant neon Lime Blazer – o h y e a h h !
EEEEEKKKK it was seriously so exciting ! THATS WHY I’ve decided to BLOG IT ( I’m totally not over it yet – it’s just so pretty ha ! )
After I bought it I couldn’t stop thinking about it, then when i finally arrived home, I wore it for a good 4 hours before deciding it’s time to TAKE IT OFF LOL
There’s a lot of bright/neon blazers out so if you want to “be in on it” too Just head to your nearest Mall/Shopping centre. Trust me they aren’t that hard to miss in the window !
HOWEVER ! – If you can’t find one, the one I’m wearing is from Target, It’s from the Hot options range AND if also comes in black with lime pocket openings for all the subtle babies !
Below is just a fun little collage I put together, it shows all the dominant colours for styling bright blazers !
Doing my daily spruiking, standing at my hub looking pretty, eyeing people who touch my clothes rack and up pops a Miss Shannon Short !
Now, I like to have fun with my clients and oh boy we definitely did !
Playing dress ups for about 45 minutes ( JUST IMAGE ALL THE OPTIONS SRSLY !! ) and voila she’s put on the same outfit that I’ve got on !
I think Shannon and I look pretty awesome !
Casual yet stylish this semi-sheer zig zag top can be dressed down( which is the look that we both had on) or even dressed up with some popping bright neon’s !
Like what we’re wearing ?
Simply click the images below to be directed to the website !
ALSO… If you don’t already have a favourite LITTLE BLACK JACKET. The one I’m wearing is definitely one to add to your wardrobe !
It’s very stylish, $59, ruched 3/4 sleeve, and has front shawl like opening !
It’s something I haven’t stopped wearing.
Clients of all shapes, sizes, and builds have bought this and it has looked amazing on every single one of them !
