Goodmorning Chica’s
Happy Friday to you all – Can’t belive it is March Already – Time is Flying by. We will soon be in LA !!
Today’s Post isn’t about the Life of Rhy or Ratavosi the Label. It is about Another Fashion Brand, River Island.
While we mainly focus on ourselves, at this blog, it is important to research and keep up to date with Other Labels and Brands.
I hope you all enjoy this Post on The Fashion Ashes Collection at River Island !
*
River Island has launched a unique Southern Hemisphere collection for Spring/Summer called Fashion Ashes! Playing on the cricket series between England and Australia ‘The Ashes’, this collection sees a style off between Australian beauty Elle Brittain and British cool girl Bee Beardsworth.
About the models and collection
BEARDSWORTH
Model artist & writer 22 year old fresh face britgirl, Bee has a great sense of grungy personal style that is uniquely ‘English.’ Her cheeky personality has earned the model a cult following; Her tumblrpage attracts hundreds of fans and followers who ask Bee personal questions & life advice. Her answers are always thoughtful, open and candid, adding to her girl next door charm.
ELLE BRITTAIN
Blonde aussie bombshell Elle Britain is an emerging model face. With Lara Stone looks and bodacious curves, she is the archetypal aussie beach babe. Scouted online, Elle was signed by IMG this year. Elle also happens to be indigenous Australian and walked for the inaugural Indigenous Australia fashion we earlier this year. She has already had a few commercial campaigns under her belt and has earned fashion stripes appearing in Oyster, Yen, RUSSH & Attitude magazine.
The two models go head to head modelling the biggest trends of S/S representing their countries’ style. The collection features festival fashion, beach wear, party dresses, street style and denim.
Overall, we go for brighter colours while the British stick to earthy tones. See the difference between the seasons most wanted trends below.
Festival fashion
Doing it like a brit: The brits go for a more grungy rock and roll look with leathers, fringing, boots and earthy tones.
The Aussie way: We go for brighter colours with florals and prints and a bohemian undertone to our outfits.
Beach wear
Doing it like a brit: The brits love channelling the French Rivera feel when it comes to beachwear. Think nautical prints and boat hats!
The Aussie way: Bright colours, stunning prints and kimonos are a must to keep us looking cool. A key item to keep it causal on the beach is bleached denim shorts; these are great for throwing over your bikini bottoms.
Street style
Doing it like a Brit: Think Cara Delevingne with slogan tees and sneaker combos and on the other side there is a more feminine feel with poppy prints.
The Aussie way: We love our monochrome and sporty looks! Monochrome gives us a cool chic look while we also keep it casual with sport inspired looks.
Party dresses
Doing it like a Brit: Glamour, metallic and sparkle are all part of the party look in the northern hemisphere.
The Aussie way: Our top dress styles are body con and skater dresses. Pair this with bright colours, cut out or prints and you have the perfect combination!
Happy Sunday and a pinch and a punch for the first day of the month ! – – – What is happening right now ? We are already in February !? What !? Is there any one out there who … Continue reading
I often hear people talking about the Hunter, and how great they think it is, and how you can wine taste all day and practically stroll along drunk from winery to winery with not a care in the world – but it would never interest me much. I’d think “ oh wine, schmine ! Whatever to wine”. If anything, I’d always say I’d only visit for the scenery and rustic culture.
I’m not really a big wine drinker, let alone taster but I must say I did actually enjoy my time up there AND for those who know how much I deteste Wine, You’ll be proud because I actually Bought some !

I had the pleasure of visiting Hunter Valley on a Mothers and Daughters weekend getaway, all with thanks to my boyfriends sister and the celebration of their Mothers very special 60th Birthday.
I had a fantastic time, it was a great chance to bond and relax. In a Country like this, where we are always so busy working, running errands, and just generally on the go, it is nice to be able to zone out from Work and Everyday Life.
It’s important to try and maintain that balance no matter how delayed a Getaway is.
Scroll on and see my pictures from The Hunter Valley, I have also included the places we visited as a guide for the Hunter if you ever decide to go.
We were there During the first weekend of July, so the weather was quite crisp yet still beautiful enough to enjoy the outdoors and activities that Hunter Valley has to offer.
Thursday Night | The Night before our Hunter Valley Journey : Before I started Packing for the Hunter, I had only one thing on my mind – HATS !
So I head down to the nearest General Pants store and bought myself Agent Ninety Nine’s Wide Brimmed Hat.
Followed by that, I stopped at a Little Stall to buy a Beanie. I somehow manage to loose my Beanies all the time.
Friday Morning | My Future sister-in-law Made these beautiful itinerary cards.
Great Job Kazzie – You’re definitely talented when it comes to all things stationary and Style.
Group Selfies as we head out for The Hunter.
Tempus Two Winery | Corner of Broke & McDonalds Roads,Pokolbin NSW 2320

where Tempus Two wines are Located there are also a few other stores including an amazing Cheese store if you’re one of those people who LOVES Cheese.
I guess its okay to start early when you’re at the Hunter.
All Gone !
McQuigan’s Winery | Corner of Broke & McDonalds Roads,Pokolbin NSW 2320
McGuigan Winery was one of my favourite winery’s we visited.

And I bought another Hat !
This particular photo was taken in Storybrooke – a section of the Hunter Valley Gardens.
Hunter Valley Gardens was so Beautiful and so Relaxing !
Cafe Enzo | Broke Rd & Ekerts Rd, Pokolbin NSW 2320

Ballabourneen Wine Co. | 2347 Broke Rd, Pokolbin NSW 2320
Town of Wollombi
And as we head back to Sydney, taking the longer scenic route, we visited the old Town of Wollombi.
I loved this store – It had a bunch of handmade Nepalese Crafts to die for ! Beautiful bright Colours – amazing Camel embroidered Bags
The Twin home Store . The interior is tastefully decorated with an affordable collection of Rustic Goods definitely a must if visiting this town
